R&D Center for Human Vaccines
The China Bio-Human Vaccine R&D Center is a R&D team spun off from the original Beijing Institute of Biological Products. As the “national team” for human vaccine R&D, it has a high-quality scientific research team including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, with hundreds of R&D personnel Among the remaining people, more than half have senior and intermediate technical titles and have strong capabilities in developing innovative drugs. Mainly engaged in the research and development of viruses, bacterial vaccines, genetic engineering drugs and vaccines, therapeutic vaccines, antibodies, new adjuvants, etc. The projects they are engaged in basically represent the development direction of this field, with obvious advantages in mid- and downstream development technology. It has undertaken funding projects such as the "863 Program", "Support Program", "Major New Drug Development", "Major Special Project for Infectious Diseases" and the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. It has successively developed such as the "Hand, Foot and Mouth (EV71) Inactivated Vaccine" which has been on the market, the "Beijing strain of live attenuated varicella vaccine" has obtained the new drug certificate, the "Poliovirus inactivated vaccine" Phase I, II, and III clinical studies, "Treatment Phase III clinical research of “Sex Hepatitis B Vaccine” and “Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine”, “Phase I clinical research of new HIV vaccine completed”, “Multivalent Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine” obtained clinical research approval, “Norovirus "Vaccine" and "Enhanced Hepatitis B Vaccine" apply for clinical research acceptance.
The research center has strong resilience and R&D capabilities, especially during the SARS epidemic in 2003 and the hand-foot-mouth disease outbreak in 2008. The research center actively responded to the relevant special research and obtained special funding from the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. , Has played an important role in the prevention and control of major or new infectious diseases.
